4 from 10 Americans worry about the debts
6 March 2008At the end of February Bankrate, Inc. has published results of the national poll, which have shown that 61 % of Americans have non-mortgage debt. 64 % of respondents-debtors have recognized that the debts for them are an occasion for anxiety.
The main results of the poll are the following:
- The attitude of Americans to debts is ambiguous. 91 % of the surveyed believe that the debts can be controlled by the disciplined expenses and savings, 72 % also consider that the debt is an integral part of the modern life, and can hardly be avoided;
- 66 % of Americans believe, that the debts are very often results of unfavorable circumstances, which can’t be controlled, while 60 % have determined debts, as result of incorrect decisions;
- Credit cards appeared the most often form of debts (45 %);
- Men less worry about the debts, than women (30 % against 40 %).
